We’ll create derivatives based on the width of the original file. The largest resolution we create is 4K, or 3840px by 2160px. We have video type detection and encoding settings (what we call Smart Encoding) so that live-action videos look great, and longer videos that require fine detail (like Webinars) will be as efficient a file-size as possible (for smooth playback). Channels: 2-channel Stereo (not surround)Īnd now, a little more explanation on why these settings are preferable:Īfter you upload a video, we perform encoding on it – creating multiple derivatives for different use cases and environments (like mobile devices and Flash) and we also get these versions ready to play on the web. This became clear when i render a two hour long video and in crashed because it filled the "temp" folder in my C:\ directory i dont want to have to constantly delete files from there. The issue is that when i render something, some files go the "temp" folder in C:\ and i was wondering if there is any way to stop the program from saving stuff in the C:\ direcory at all. They are not a big deal since they are small files, mostly library related files that i don`t want to tamper with out of fear they might break.

My external drive is my "C" directory, and i of course don`t want to fill it with software related stuff, camtasia itself it`s installed in the D:\ directory but it has some stuff also in the C:\ as well. Now, once you get here, there are two options or two formats you can save your captions as. And then navigate to the folder where we want to save our captions.

Make sure that the Include Quiz and Include SCORM boxes are checked. I have a related problem and was wondering if you could lend me a hand. To export our captions, all we need to do is just click on the gear icon, and then click on Export captions. Place a title in the ‘Export as’ and choose Export to MP4 as the file format. I wasn't able to afford using Camtasia before. And special thanks for the Subcription option. I already tested and made a couple of recording - everything works as good as it worked before. Now I can freely record long videos and don't worry about the free space. Oh! Many thanks for your help! It worked, We are looking to implement a default save location, though when that option becomes available, I do not know. Once you have changed that option, click on the Program tab and then un-check the "Hide preview window after recording is stopped" so you can then choose to save your Recordings to your D:\ (which I hope is a local drive, and not an external drive? We do not recommend storing source files, the temp directory, or projects on external drives, network drives, or cloud-synced folders like Dropbox or OneDrive). When you open the Camtasia Recorder go to Tools - Options and then change the Temp directory.
